Wireless Weather Forecaster Provides Five-Day Local Weather Updates At a Glance

Cambridge, MA - October 4, 2004 - Ambient Devices, the leader in "glanceable" technology, today announced a gift idea that will be available nationwide through RadioShack (NYSE: RSH) in time for the holiday season. The Ambient Wireless Weather Forecaster allows people to quickly and visually check five-day weather forecasts without having to turn on the computer, radio or television.

The Wireless Weather Forecaster is a four inch glass square display that shows five-day, zip-code specific weather forecast information from Accuweather.com™. This wirelessly updated forecaster shows current temperature trends as well as pulsing current temperature in an easy-to-read format that is similar to a bar graph. Weather icons on the display indicate five-day forecast conditions. It gets its power from batteries or AC adapter and requires no computer connections, phone lines or additional cords.

RadioShack customers across the country can use the Wireless Weather Forecaster at home or work, because the device receives transmissions from the Ambient Information Network™, a wireless network that covers more than 90-percent of the U.S. population.

A monthly $6.95 add-on subscription service is available for people who wish to have access to additional information, such as forecast conditions for cities outside their area.
